All In A Day's Work
Location: USS Excalibur, Deck 1, Captain’s Ready Room
Timeline: Mission Day 3 at 1020
“I know you were pulled off your last mission to head to Tania Borealis for some humanitarian work, a set of earthquakes. I have seen intelligence reports that the Klingons may want to use the moment to take back the planet, it was previously under their control, many moons ago” as Bradley passed something off screen; “I’m forwarding that report to you now”
“Thanks, at the moment, we haven’t had any reports of them arriving on the planet, or in orbit but we will keep an eye out and report if we need to, Admiral” what Anthony didn’t know was that they were already here.
“How is the damage on the surface, I know we have an outpost there, how are the crew of the outpost?” Asked Bradley, quite concerned. He was given a briefing on the disaster, but wasn’t aware of what was going on at the moment.
“They are looking alright, a few broken bones but nothing my medical teams cant handle. They are working around the clock and we have our facilities on the ship if needed. Same with the residents, and we have shuttles heading up to the ship and to the surface all the time for those who need to get off the surface”
“Are you planning any evacuations?” Asked Bradley, another question…
“Admiral, we have made plans that for anybody who wishes to leave to be given the time to secure their belongings and made arrangements for transport to Outpost Curtiss, our closet starbase”
“Sounds good” was all Bradley said, but he could sense that there was something else.
“Admiral, I do however, need to inform you that base commander, a Commander Emerson is missing, along with four security personnel. They were investigating something in a southern area of the planet, and haven’t been heard from since they reported in about seven hours now. I am sending my Executive Officer and two security teams along to the area, in addition, an intelligence advance team is already in the area, looking at what they can. They have orders not to engage until Commander Murphy arrives and is apprised of the situation”
“Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, Captain. I think you have it under control. You’ll learn with me as Task Force Commander that I am hands-off unless I feel you can't handle it or it needs my expert and personal attention. Other than that, you are the man on the ground, it is your operation, your assignment, you deal with it. Ask me for advice if you wish, I’m always here” replied Bradley
“I’ll be sure to lean upon your expertise, Admiral. If you will excuse me”
“Sure thing, Task Force Command out” as the screen went blank again.
