So... Those New Orders, Part Three

Posted on Mon Nov 4, 2019 @ 10:43am by Captain Anthony Richardson & Lieutenant Commander Sidney Tyler-Moore [PNPC - Richardson] & Lieutenant Commander Lapzik Ghein & Lieutenant JG Atrorius S'harien & Ensign Noah Maritz

Mission: Do You Remember?
Location: USS Excalibur, Deck 1, Observation Lounge
Timeline: Mission Day 2 at 0930

"The devil comes back for her due..." Artorius blurted out without even realizing it, at the same time mulling over the information in his mind. When he realized that every eye was on him he felt alittle embarrassed. "Sorry. This seems to be an issue that any high ranking JAG officer could perform at their ease." He simply stated. "On one hand we could say 'superstition be damned' and try to convince the Ventaxians that this Ardra isn't a demon and that they've potentially been had”

“On another we could force Ardra's hand into returning...if the legends are true...confront this Ardra into releasing her power over the Ventaxians peacefully. Then admittance for Ventax II into the Federation would go alot more smoother."

Ghein had been listening to the briefing silently, sipping at the water he’d ordered himself at the replicator. He interjected before allowing an answer to the Lieutenant’s question, “Why is Starfleet so adamant the Ventaxians renounce this contract? Religions and superstitions haven’t prevented other worlds from joining.” He sipped the water once more, “Bajorans come to mind.”

"That's something I wanted to know as well, the Federation are adament that they want this gone before they admit them, it would avoid another war based on one planet and the fact that they don't probably want a planet that is enslaved in the Federation" responded Anthony

"Alright, if there is nothing else. Dismissed"

As everyone left, Sidney stayed back and he just sat there. That was a sign he wanted to talk to Anthony. Anthony saw this look, and just waited until everyone was gone from the room; "What's up Sidney?" he asked

"The tone of people seems to be clear, they don't want Thomas here and I would have to agree, he doesn't seem like he is wanting to be here anymore. He feels like he is not trusted anymore and we are just trying to do things to keep him busy and out of the way. I want to suggest something" he asked

"Sure" was all Anthony said

"I want to suggest leaving the ship, head back to Earth and he can work with me and a specialist class that I have at the Academy, and making it a test case for some new studies and performance. Maybe working with that, something that he can take ownership of will be a way for him to come out of his shell. I've spent a few hours with him and he is very cagey about a few things, I think he needs treatment away from the rigours of being on a ship. The fresh air at the Academy might be a good step for him"

"If you feel so, Doc. I'll take it to Admiral Eastwood

"Thank You, Anthony. I'll report back in a few weeks, I'll go get Thomas packed up" responded Sidney, he was smiling a bit, the last few hours had been a toll on him, this was his hardest case by far.

As Sidney walked out, he saw the door stay open, it was his yeoman coming in; "What's the problem now, Simona" he asked

"Um, Sir. They want you back on the base, something about mission orders" was her response, as she handed over a PADD with a few little details. All of it was from Admiral Eastwood, saying something about a change in mission orders

"Looks like I have another meeting" as Anthony packed up his PADDs and walked off. This meeting was in 30 minutes, it would take him that long just to get there probably.
