Finding Out, Part One

Posted on Fri Oct 4, 2019 @ 9:16am by Captain Anthony Richardson & Lieutenant Commander Sidney Tyler-Moore [PNPC - Richardson] & Lieutenant Commander Lapzik Ghein & Lieutenant JG Atrorius S'harien & Lieutenant JG Cassandra Rae & Ensign Noah Maritz

Mission: Do You Remember?
Location: USS Excalibur, Deck 1, Captain's Ready Room
Timeline: Mission Day 1 at 1500

Anthony knew that there had to be a moment he had to inform at least his senior staff of the incident, so far, it had been kept under wraps but now with Sidney around the place and working his processes, the senior staff had to be getting suspicious, and Anthony felt that there was no other time but right now to let them know; "Senior Staff, please come to the Captain's Ready Room as soon as possible for a short briefing" he said.

[A Few Minutes Later]

Artorius was in the officer's lounge on deck five. Sipping coffee and eating a slice of cake, a small slice. With events in the shuttlebays coming into order and Artorius getting to know his staff and crew. It was good to be on a semi break. His next port of call would be the bridge to talk to his helm crew then hopefully some quiet time to catch up on events of other Starfleet vessels.

Finished with his snack, and his plate, fork, and cup in the busser's tray near the exit, Arotrius left and proceeded towards the turbolift when he heard the Captain's message.

"Well, it's on the way anyhow.' He thought to himself as he stepped inside and told the turbolift to take him to Deck One.

The first officer was already on the bridge, acting on Richardson’s behalf while the Captain had stepped off to attend to some indeterminate business. Ghein stood from the centre chair after acknowledging the summons, said “Lieutenant, you have the conn,” with a firm, if muted authority, then moved to the ready room. He pressed the button to request entry and clasped his hands loosely behind him.

Ghein briefly remained in the now opened door, “Captain, as ordered,” before he fully entered. One arm moved from its perch on the small of his back to indicate an empty chair close to the desk. “May I?”

"Take a seat anywhere" smiled Anthony

Sidney had walked in at the same time, he was just going to take the time to get to know the dynamic of the senior staff, get a better understanding of how things worked around on Excalibur, and how it would all play out for Thomas. He had a feeling this meeting would be about Thomas and Sidney's own arrival onboard. While he was here for Thomas, Sidney felt it might be useful to help out in the counselling staff onboard. They needed some guidance and Sidney could use it as an impromptu teaching moment.

A few moments later Artorius arrived, PADD in hand. He greeted everyone and took a seat. Not everyone had arrived yet so he scanned the Federation News website. Sure enough, it reported the Excalibur docked at Xavier Fleet Yards. Aso the Yorktown and a Vulcan science team were running a joint scientific mission on the border of Romulan space, it was reported the crew of the Endeavour had managed to stop a plot by the mysterious Section 31 in the Alpha Quadrant and the Enterprise was someone off in the far galaxy doing what it does best. All in all, another day in the fleet.

"Alright, no need for PADDs or recording of anything in this meeting, this is not our mission orders. This meeting is to inform you of an incident that occurred a few weeks ago and a matter that is developing. I want to welcome Doctor Sidney Tyler-Moore, who is a senior professor of counselling at the Academy and Starfleet Medical. He will be joining us for the foreseeable future. I’m going to hand over to Sidney”

“Thank You, Anthony. I have met a few of you and I’ll end up having a discussion with probably all of you soon. For those unaware, Thomas Dion was placed under isolation in his quarters since then. From the incident report, he was about to undertake an illegal assault and interrogation of a member of the crew who was only being taken to the brig after being found drunk in Ten Forward."
