A big month, we welcomed Ensign Cassandra Rae as our new Chief Medical Officer and Lieutenant Commander Ryan Murphy as our Executive Officer this month. We did have to remove Ensign Wayne Masters for failure to post at all since his arrival, so we are sitting alright on 4 crew at the moment. I will say I have had word from two other people about joining and hopefully they will be submitting their applications soon. Regardless, I will be getting some recruitment done in the next few days to start the month off.
Posting & Activity
Wow! We shamed the target, I was hoping for just 10 posts this month, we shamed it and reached a grand total of 23 posts! That is a 2200% increase from last month. Well done to everyone and it has sent the mission to a whole new level and we are really pushing forward with the mission now. I want to thank you all for the effort put in over April, and our target for May is 20 posts again! Let's see if we can smash that target this time!
Mission Recap (so far)
posts are open up until the end of Mission Day 2
With the change from the Free Romulan Movement to our own missions, we are going to start off with something simple, a routine disaster recovery mission. We are heading now to Tania Borealis to help out with rebuilding their homeworld after a major earthquake and disaster. We will be doing a lot down there until the reinforcements arrive, but maybe not everything is as it seems. I guess we will have to get there and find out (we will arrive at the planet around 1900 on Mission Day 3). We will have to watch out for the Klingons, they may try something sneaky, but I guess we will have to find out when we get there.
Player of the Month
I am awarding the Player of the Month award this month, for the first time to Ensign Cassandra Rae. Now, this award is selected by me (I may get our XO to pick every once in a while) for the person who I feel has made a positive impact on the simulation during the month. Things like posting, being active, being around, going above and beyond the call of duty, and just being a great team player, things like that are what I'll be looking towards for this award each month. I will get around over the coming days to adding a whole bunch of sim-based awards and getting this added to Ensign Rae's profile.
Fleet News & Updates
If you haven’t already, please ensure you have signed up for the BFMS (http://bravofleet.com) and created your character and had them assigned to the USS Excalibur. This way, both our website and fleet manifest are correct. There has been no other major fleet news at the moment that can be reported. I did, however, resign as Task Force 93 Executive Officer, so we will be focussing on our own missions and my focus will now be solely on my fleet role and this simulation, so I hope that this brings us even more activity.
Don’t forget our Discord channel at https://discord.gg/9Jdvm6V and when you are on there, let me know your username so I can set the right permissions for you. In summary, we had a great month, an amazing month!!!! It was such a bigger positive to see where the simulation has come in such a short space of time, and I think with the same level of effort from everyone, we will see even bigger things over the rest of this year.
